Wellness Coaching is recognized as a way to help individuals “manage” their health and wellness, especially in the areas of stress-management, weight loss, and work/life balance. Wellness coaching is a method of guiding another to “discover” and address their own ambivalence to health behavior change. Wellness coaching is a framework to assist the client to identify issues, beliefs, and concerns that may hinder or support his/her lifestyle change or responsibility for their health. Like traditional coaching, Wellness coaches utilize goal setting, identification of obstacles, and use of personal support systems. The relationship between the coach and client is an accountability partnership focused on the overall health outcome goals as defined by the Wellness coach, healthcare practitioners and the patient/coachee.
The most difficult thing to do is change our behavior – no matter how much information you have it may not be enough for you to figure out a plan, a schedule that’s right for you, and to stick to it long after the novelty has worn off. Commitment to change to a healthy life-style isn’t easy, but most certainly can be done. Our wellness coaching teaches you to make these changes and stick to them for the long-haul.
